DIY-style online marketing is booming among business start-ups, according to data from 1& Internet.
Business blogging, RSS usage and online marketing are all being taken up at an "impressive" rate, according to the hosting and domain name registration firm.
It said that, since it bundled a blog tool with its hosting plans in December 2006, customers have created over 1300 new business blogs each month.
In addition, after it launched a free RSS Creator tool, around 700 business start-ups users created RSS feeds for communication each month.
Other products have also had demonstrable impact, according to 1&1.
Since releasing 1&1 Search Marketing (powered by Yahoo! Search Marketing) and 1&1 Banner Advertising last year, hundreds of new small business customers have adopted the DIY-style online marketing techniques each month.
Andreas Gauger, CEO 1&1 Internet said: "The figures are pleasing in that they indicate that British SMEs are learning that business blogging and DIY web marketing methods can pay real dividends.
"1&1 will push hard to deliver tools that enable the smaller website owner to remain competitive", he added.
