Liverpool has been named as one of top cities in the UK for innovation among small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs).
The Vodafone Working Nation study revealed that business start-up in Liverpool were turning the city in to a business hotspot.
Some two-thirds of the citys employees claimed that their business start-ups were innovative, higher than the figures put forward in any other city.
A similar number said that their company was improving while 80 per cent thought that their bosses were fair.
Mike Taylor, chief executive of Business Liverpool, told the Liverpool Daily Post: "We do have a lot of innovative new companies coming through now… [and] businesses in the city have very strong growth ambitions.
"Jobs are now being created faster here than in other UK core cities so it is clear the SME sector is growing."
