BT has responded to the recent flood devastation by offering business customers its support service for free.
The package, BT Assurance Plus, is a service normally paid for by over one million BT business customers.
It provides technical support for dealing with problems such as line faults, handset issues and difficulties involving web services.
The communications provider has announced it will offer the service, free of charge, for a month to help UK businesses get back on their feet after the severe flooding of recent days.
This should mean thousands of businesses find it cheaper and easier to get crucial IT and communication services back into operation.
Bill Murphy, managing director of BT Business, said: "The havoc caused by the severe flooding across parts of England has clearly been devastating, with the threat of further disruption to come.
"For businesses affected by flooding, any operational downtime can have a huge impact on their ability to provide a consistent service to their customers."
Risk management consultancy Ambiental recently highlighted the risks faced by small businesses who do not have adequate asset protection measures in place.
Justin Butler, managing director, emphasised that not having appropriate contents insurance "can wipe a company out".
