A disability charity and hugely successful entrepreneur have teamed up to find the UKs Disabled Entrepreneur of the Year 2007.
Leonard Cheshire - the UKs largest voluntary sector provider of support to disabled people - and Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, the founder of easyjet, have come together to establish the award.
Stelios explained that he is passionate about helping to remove the barriers faced by disabled businessmen and women.
He continued: "That is why I am keen to establish this new award which will give disabled people an opportunity to show the world what they are able to do rather than have them negatively judged by their disability.
"I look forward to seeing the best of the entries and in due course handing over the cheque to the winner."
To be eligible to enter the competition, entrepreneurs must be officially recognised as disabled, be involved in the management of their business and have a stake in it of at least 40 per cent.
In addition to this, company formation must have occurred less than three years ago - and the business start-up should have a turnover of over £10,000 a year.
The final awards ceremony, organised by the British Chamber of Commerce, will take place at Londons Victoria and Albert Museum on November 29th.
The winner will receive a cheque for £50,000.
