Natwest has launched a package of measures designed to help small UK businesses set up and flourish.
The Natwest Start-Up offers two years free banking, supported by a network of over 1,700 locally based business managers offering face-to-face advice.
The package also gives each business start-up the option of using a fee free overdraft of up to £500, as well as a fee-free Business Mastercard for the first year.
Steve Pateman, managing director for business banking at NatWest, said: "Research shows that simply not knowing where to start puts a third of people off implementing their business idea.
"What were doing is creating better access to free face to face business advice."
He continued: "Weve also ensured our experienced managers are more equipped to help customers in all the important areas, such as managing cashflow, planning, risk management and marketing."
A recent Natwest survey of small business owners revealed that the biggest practical challenges faced were managing cashflow and lack of funding.
The Start-Up offer is aimed at businesses which have undergone company formation in the last 12 months.
Previous research has revealed that tax planning and excessive red tape are two of the most significant impediments facing small businesses in the UK.
