HSBC has launched a service that should help business start-ups get off the ground.
The new scheme, called Up and Running, is a free online information service.
It aims to support small businesses by allowing them to gain access to advice and support from those who have already made a success of starting their own SMEs.
All those offering advice are HSBC Start-Up Stars finalists and two are former winners of the award.
Simon Wainwright, head of business banking, commented: "Whether you want to find out how to turn an idea into a viable venture or simply need information about how to run your business more effectively, Up and Running is there to provide support and advice.
"Drawing on the real experiences of people who, at one time or another, have been in your shoes, this service can help you make a real success of your business."
The service is available to anyone - not solely existing customers of HSBC.
Once signed up to the programme small businesses will receive weekly email updates designed to guide them through the process of company formation and development.
Each email includes a series of guides on subjects including market research, development strategy, writing a business plan and managing finances.
The guides develop alongside the plan of the entrepreneur. The initial email details crucial early research such as evaluating the competition, while the final stage in the scheme guides the participant through how to successfully launch the business.
HSBC business banking customers will then be able to sign up to an additional advice service, which focuses around key areas to consider once the business is up and running.
