Notorious US investor has involved himself in the debate around tax mitigation, saying the super-rich should not enjoy tax breaks.
In a move that may affect a number of peoples tax planning procedures, Mr Buffett said the US tax system was favoured the richest demographic.
He spoke at a fundraising dinner held in New York this week - the event was hosted for Senator Hilary Clinton and tickets were $46,000 a head, reports the Guardian.
Mr Buffett commented: "This is what Congress in its wisdom did.
"The 400 of us pay a lower part of our income in taxes than our receptionists do, or our cleaning ladies for that matter.
"If youre in the luckiest one per cent of humanity, you owe it to the rest of humanity to think about the other 99 per cent."
Mr Buffett is worth in the region of £26 billion.
