Company directors of small start-up businesses can benefit from having a virtual office because it allows them to present a more reassuring image to prospective new clients, according to business services provider, The Virtual Office.
It is good for clients to have a second number they can call, other than a mobile, where they will know someone will be answering their call and relaying messages, the firm said.
A virtual office is a term for shared office services, which can include a business address, mail services, phone services, fax services, answering services, web services and meeting and conference facilities.
For company directors of small businesses, the advantages of a virtual office also include reduced costs and not having to commit to an office space.
Firms can also benefit from having a prestigious address and a London telephone number with an answering service that presents a professional image to clients.
A spokesperson for The Virtual Office said: "A lot of people still give out their mobile number but [having a virtual office] just means that if clients ring up and cant get through to the mobile, they can still get through and speak to someone, so they can be reassured in person, rather than thinking, I cant get through to them."
